Have you always wondered about how pigment from plants dye fabric? This workshop is a great introduction to natural dyeing! Come take your first step into dyeing with plants and learn the beauty of botanical colours. You'll learn about the chemistry behind natural dyeing, blend natural dyes to your desired hue, and work with flowers and extracts to create your personalised silk scarf.
Each participant will be painting and dyeing a 90x90cm silk satin scarf with hand-rolled hem. You are also encouraged bring your own fresh or dried plant or a bouquet of flowers you recently received too – great for making a nice memory last! Once your scarves are painted, sprinkled and bundled, they will be steamed. While we wait, we will share creative ways to style your scarf.
This workshop is limited to a cozy group of 6 persons per slot and requires a minimum of 4 to commence.
